How To Submit Homey Diagnostics
There are two different types of diagnostics that can be submitted with the SharpTools Homey App. In many cases, our support team will ask you to submit both diagnostics when troubleshooting an issue.
Homey Diagnostic Report
This is a built-in Homey feature available for all apps which submits the most recent logs for the app to the app developer.
SharpTools System Snapshot
This is a feature unique to SharpTools found under the 'System' link at the bottom of the app configuration. It snapshots details about your devices and app settings that are useful for troubleshooting.
Homey Diagnostic Report
All apps within Homey have an option to submit a Diagnostic Report. This submits the most recent logs for the app developer to review.
Homey only submits a limited amount of recent logs, so you must submit this log type immediately after reproducing the issue.
To submit the Homey app logs from the Homey web app:
Open the settings page for the SharpTools Homey App

- Open my.homey.app
- Tap the settings cog in the bottom-left
- Scroll down and select SharpTools
Tap the 'Create Diagnostics Report' button
Note: the name might vary based on your configured language
SharpTools System Snapshot
The SharpTools Homey app includes a custom feature which takes a snapshot of system information that is helpful in troubleshooting issues. This system snapshot includes details about your devices as well as configured app settings.
Open the settings page for the SharpTools Homey App
Tap to see manual steps
- Open my.homey.app
- Tap the settings cog in the bottom-left
- Scroll down and select SharpTools
- Tap the Configure button for the app
- Tap the System link at the bottom of the app
- Tap the Upload System Snapshot button
- Confirm that you would like to proceed
- Copy the displayed Diagnostic Key and share it with SharpTools support
