How do I customize a style for an individual tile?
In this article, we'll show how you can apply a Custom Style to any tile in your dashboard. Note that Custom Styles are a bit unique in that you you are not required to create a Theme in order to use a Custom Style.
Themes enable you organize your Styles and re-use them across multiple tiles and even multiple dashboards. Each theme comes with a 'default' and 'active' style which are automatically applied to tiles based on if they are active or not and you can also
add your own named styles to a theme and then apply those to tiles.
In order to customize the style for an individual tile, follow these steps:
- Open your dashboard dashboard for editing
- Tap the `...` in the top-right corner of the tile you would like to edit and tap Edit
- Check the box next to 'Style'
- Either tap the Style States button or Active/Default Style button (depending on the type of tile)
Note: If the tile uses State Mappings (and you tapped the Style States button), you'll be presented with a list of valid states for the tile. Tap the Style button next to the relevant state that you would like to customize. - Check the box next to 'Custom Style' to create a custom style for the tile
- Adjust the Custom Style as you see fit and then tap the Use Style button
Note: If the tile uses State Mappings, tap the 'Done' button to save the States. - Tap Save to save your tile changes
- Tap the orange Save icon in the bottom right corner of the dashboard to save the dashboard changes
If you plan on reusing the same style across multiple tiles (or even multiple dashboards), it's preferred to create a named style in a Theme. Check out the
